This course is designed as an experimental exploration of the Periodic Table. It includes selected experiments to focus on basic descriptive Inorganic Chemistry. The Labs deal systematically with the elements’ structures, physical and chemical properties, and reactions of their compounds.

The practical activities will help in the understanding of the basic principles and concepts covered in the classroom lectures. Such basic principles and concepts will relate to aspects of selected ranges of elements and compounds, patterns of elements, transition elements and their compounds, and nitrogen and sulfur and their compounds. Qualitative analysis involving the identification of ions will also be involved. This is a one-credit-hour course that involves a two-hour lab session per week.
