This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the major themes, events, and people that have shaped Belize's history from pre-Columbian times to the present day. This course will cover a range of historical topics, including ancient Maya civilization, European colonization,  enslavement, migrations, nationalism, and contemporary issues in post-colonial Belize. Through historical inquiry, students will strengthen their ability to interpret evidence, evaluate historical perspectives, communicate historical arguments, and make connections between the past and present.
